BCCAP Runway 26L-08R Rehabilitation

YPK was extremely fortunate to have been chosen as a recipient for funding through the BC Airport Access Program (BCAAP) which is a provincially led grant program. Our Runway Rehabilitation Project was successfully completed in record time and has offered substantial longevity to this airport.

• Resurfacing of degrading asphalt was completed in 2 phased steps to ensure the airport remained as operational as possible.

• Milling, base repairs and repaving were needed to ensure a structurally sound product.

• Line surveying and painting were then completed for centerlines, threshold lines, aiming point markings, touchdown zone markings, displaced threshold arrows, Rwy threshold bars, hold short lines, runway hold short designators and designation markings.

This BCAAP grant was a 2 part project, the other being majority of our main taxiways which was completed during this same time.
